Stephen Unsworth
Healthcare Operations Specialist
Stephen brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience across health and social care, combining his clinical background as a registered nurse with extensive operational and commercial expertise.
Throughout his career, Stephen has held senior roles with Southend-on-Sea City Council, the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Carewatch Domiciliary Care, Caretech Care Services and BUPA Care Services. His responsibilities have included regulated service delivery, operational performance, compliance, commissioning, service transformation and organisational growth.
He has experience delivering significant operational efficiencies, maintaining ‘Good’ CQC ratings across regulated services and leading operations within organisations ranging from local authorities to a £63 million turnover care business. Stephen has also supported councils and framework providers with contract compliance, regulatory oversight and workforce development.
Stephen holds a BSc in Business Studies from the University of Manchester, alongside qualifications in Safeguarding Level 4 and Policy and Procedure Writing.
