It is tailored care-sector consultancy for providers managing sensitive safeguarding or regulatory concerns. Depending on the agreed remit, this may include independent reviews, risk mapping, incident analysis, strategy meeting preparation, governance and practical improvement support.
What should we do if a child is in immediate danger?
Take immediate protective action through your safeguarding arrangements, contacting emergency services on 999 where necessary. Involve the appropriate local authority and police, and make required regulatory notifications. Do not delay action while arranging a consultancy review.
Can Delphi conduct a Section 47 child protection enquiry?
No. The statutory Section 47 child protection enquiry is led by the local authority, working with relevant safeguarding partners. Delphi can help a provider prepare information, review its own systems or provide a separate independent assessment where appropriate.
Can Delphi investigate allegations against staff?
Delphi can discuss a separately scoped independent review where appropriate. Allegations must first follow the required safeguarding and LADO processes, with police and local authority involvement where necessary. Any review must avoid interfering with statutory or criminal enquiries.
When must a children’s home notify Ofsted of a serious event?
Regulation 40 requires notification without delay for specified serious events, including certain allegations of abuse, sexual exploitation concerns, serious police incidents and child protection enquiries. The relevant registered person must follow the exact requirements and notify other required parties.
Can you help with exploitation or missing-from-care patterns?
Yes. Within an agreed scope, Delphi can help examine missing episodes, exploitation risks, recording, oversight and multi-agency coordination to identify practical improvements. This does not replace safeguarding referrals or protective action by the responsible authorities.
Can you help challenge an Ofsted finding or notice?
We can support an operational review of the evidence and improvement activity. Formal representations, appeal grounds and procedural deadlines require appropriate legal advice. Ofsted or the relevant tribunal determines regulatory outcomes, and no success is guaranteed.
How are confidential records and children’s information handled?
Before identifiable information is shared, suitable permissions, lawful basis, data protection roles, secure transfer methods and confidentiality arrangements should be agreed. Do not send child-identifiable records, safeguarding reports or legally privileged material through a general contact form.
Can Delphi support longer-term safeguarding improvements?
Yes. Following the immediate issue, Delphi can discuss safeguarding culture audits, policies, training needs, leadership oversight, post-incident action plans, quality reviews and ongoing assurance, subject to the agreed scope and availability.
