What is CQC registration?

The CQC registration process is the way in which healthcare providers demonstrate that they meet the fundamental standards of quality and safety. To become registered with the CQC, healthcare providers must undergo an application process that involves several steps.

Whether you need CQC registration depends on the activities you carry on and any applicable exemptions. CQC regulates specified health and adult social care activities in England. What we do.

What does CQC registration involve?

Start by checking which regulated activities, locations and provider arrangements apply to your service. Use CQC's current new provider application forms and service-specific guidance, rather than assuming every application follows the same route.

Prepare the required supporting documents and any related registered manager application. The information must accurately describe your proposed service, leadership, governance and readiness to operate. Submit a complete application using the method specified in CQC's current guidance.

CQC assesses whether an applicant meets the requirements for registration. It may request further information and assess the relevant people, premises and arrangements. The steps depend on the application and service type.

Registration is a decision about permission to carry on regulated activities. It should not be confused with a later inspection rating. Delphi can support preparation, but cannot guarantee CQC's decision or a future rating.
